Do you need to upgrade your music business knowledge fast? The Music Business Academy offers diverse music industry workshops on various aspects of music business. Workshops are three (3) hour practical and information sessions covering the basics to get your career started. We have two types of workshops: 1 Introductory and 2 Advanced. Introductory Workshop

In this workshop we guide you through all the elements of the music business that are essential for you to know. We answer the questions who, what, where, when, how? We'll ask you about what your goals are and help you put something down on paper about what you need to do, speak to, and put in place to start getting things to happen. Concepts we'll discuss are: the music industry value chain, copyright aspects, essential contractual issues and marketing. Of course we'll touch on music on the net as well as putting a single or album together. If you have no idea where to start, this is the place for you.

Advanced Workshop

In this workshop, we'll challenge your business brain by taking you through case studies on the music industry and start guiding you through complex developments such as music on the internet. We'll pull out some contracts to show you as well as how to fill out essential forms for notifying your music and getting royalties). This workshop will give you some hands on interaction and give you a solid foot in the industry door.

How do I attend a workshop

We run workshops when we reach a minimum number of attendents, so ask us about the latest date for a workshop by simply calling or sending us an e-mail. Do you prefer weekdays or Saturdays?
Download our fees list, fill it in and return it to us.
Make sure you have paid the correct amount for the course and send the proof of payment either via e-mail or fax as indicated on our fees list.
You will recieve a confirmation of your registration for the workshop and be given further details.
On the day of the workshop, pitch up about 10 minutes before time and make sure you fill in the attendance register.
Then sit back (or sometimes work yourself silly) and enjoy your workshop! Afterward we'd appreciate you filling in a evaluation form to get any feedback you may have.
You'll receive a certificate from us indicating your attendance at the workshop.
